dc.description.abstract The article presents an analysis of historical and ethnographic information about the Terisakkan-Esil region based on cartographic and pre-revolutionary sources of the 19th – early 20th centuries. This region was in the sphere of interest of Russian researchers, cartographers, officials, as a territory of trade and economic interest for the development of trade routes and the development of new mineral deposits. Terisakkan is the only left tributary of the Ishim River along its entire length, and in different historical periods there was an active development of the territory. Cartographic materials are a unique source of information that makes it possible to trace the region's involvement in political, trade and economic ties. Maps of the pre-revolutionary period are a unique means of transmitting spatial information about the development and settlement of the territory, the location of trade routes, Cossack outposts, and postal routes. Confirmation of the received preliminary information on the development of the territory is contained in a number of published works of officials and researchers of the region. The information complements and clarifies the involvement of the Terisakkan-Ishim region in the sphere of economic interests, both imperial policy and the interests of Asian merchant circles. The path from the Central Asian possessions to the north passed through this territory, which was repeatedly mentioned in the works of travelers and officials. ru
