dc.description.abstract The article deals with the method of brainstorming as one of the methods of critical thinking that helps students develop their lexical competence at English lessons. The article describes such other methods as “Case method”, “Role and didactic games”, “Cluster”, “Cinquain” that form lexical competence either. The topic dedicates the principles, types and stages of brainstorm technology and considers the definitions by foreign and native scholars on the concept. The examples and role of the technology is described in the sense of formation and developing lexical competence. Brainstorming is a modern conference with particular scenery in order to create a list of ideas that can be used as clues guide students to the growth of the problem while giving every student the possibility to articulate his ideas and share those ideas with others and support new ideas. ru
