Abstract:
This article examines the world and current migration processes in the country. In
addition, the article provides a comparative analysis of the processes of intellectual migration that
began in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation with the collapse of the USSR in
the early 90s. The role of migrants in the world labor market, the role of human capital in the
economic, social, and political development of the country. The reasons of brain drain and ways to
regulate it are considered as well.
